BETWEEN CRISIS AND HOPE ARE VOLUNTEERS!

Providing education about HIV/AIDS to those living with the virus and their families, volunteers, and the general public is a high priority at NJB. We provide numerous services and try to provide a welcome atmosphere for clients, staff and friends. Become a volunteer today!

How can you help? NJB is always in need of volunteers and would love you to share your particular talent with us. Our Center is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Your time, no matter how much or how little, is appreciated and needed.

The following is a list of current volunteer opportunities at NJB:

Food Bank Assistants:

  1. Description of duties: Help maintain and upkeep the Food Bank, including the stocking and sorting of food items, and filling orders.
  2. Food Bank hours: Monday, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.; Tuesday–Thursday, 1 p.m.–4 p.m. Opportunities open for all shifts. Additional hours will become available based on the number of volunteers.
  3. Who can volunteer for this: Both sexes, adults, seniors, and students
  4. Languages: English (Spanish a plus, but not required)

Food Bank Donation/Food Drives

  1. The Buddies' Food Bank is a vital source in the community helping to meet nutritional and hygiene needs.
  2. We welcome non-perishable food donations, personal hygiene and cleaning products, and culturally-sensitive food items to meet our growing hispanic clientele.
  3. We welcome school, civic, and church food drives.

Research Projects

  1. Description of duties: Help with projects such as creating databases, and assisting in the creation of an AIDS Guide Book to be used as a resource for Buddies' clients.
