July 4th on the 5th

Happy 4th of July

Independence Day, also referred to as the Fourth of July or July Fourth, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence 241 years ago on July 4, 1776.,

HIV/AIDS, and Stigma associated with it, has held back many people.
Since 1985 Buddies of NJ, Inc. has worked to help those living with or affected by HIV/AIDS
live more healthy and eventually independent lives.
WE HOPE EVERYONE SAFELY CELEBRATES THIS INDEPENDENCE DAY
of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA
May we enjoy our liberty, freedom and continually create new independence
from things that trap us like HIV and related STIGMA
So, before the fireworks begin remember to be PrEPared and safe.

SATURDAY – JUNE 26

in recognition of

National HIV Testing Day – SAT. JUNE 26th

Buddies of NJ, Inc. invites you to 149 Hudson Street for a FOOD DISTRIBUTION where you may get a FREE HIV TEST with results in under 20minutes.  Also there will be available free COVID-19 testing & vaccinations by Bergen New Bridge Medical.  The actual day is June 27… yet we believe we can be accessible to more at this venue on SAT. JUNE 26th

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 1.2 million people in the United States have HIV. For people with undiagnosed HIV, testing is the first step in maintaining a healthy life and reducing the spread of HIV.

June 27 is National HIV Testing Day, an annual occasion to encourage people to get an HIV test. CDC recommends that everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 get tested for HIV at least once as part of routine health care. People at higher risk should get tested more often.

Buddies of NJ is happy to be able provide free, fast, and confidential HIV testing here and Hackensack and in your Bergen County neighborhood.

Juneteenth

JUNETEENTH (June 19) is an official state holiday and soon to be a national one as well… celebrated on 19 June to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, slaves were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation.
Buddies Staff will be attending Celebrations throughout our area including the following where we will be providing FREE HIV Testing & Resources for our community..:
