SATURDAY – JUNE 26

in recognition of

National HIV Testing Day – SAT. JUNE 26th

Buddies of NJ, Inc. invites you to 149 Hudson Street for a FOOD DISTRIBUTION where you may get a FREE HIV TEST with results in under 20minutes.  Also there will be available free COVID-19 testing & vaccinations by Bergen New Bridge Medical.  The actual day is June 27… yet we believe we can be accessible to more at this venue on SAT. JUNE 26th

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 1.2 million people in the United States have HIV. For people with undiagnosed HIV, testing is the first step in maintaining a healthy life and reducing the spread of HIV.

June 27 is National HIV Testing Day, an annual occasion to encourage people to get an HIV test. CDC recommends that everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 get tested for HIV at least once as part of routine health care. People at higher risk should get tested more often.

Buddies of NJ is happy to be able provide free, fast, and confidential HIV testing here and Hackensack and in your Bergen County neighborhood.

Juneteenth

JUNETEENTH (June 19) is an official state holiday and soon to be a national one as well… celebrated on 19 June to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, slaves were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation.
Buddies Staff will be attending Celebrations throughout our area including the following where we will be providing FREE HIV Testing & Resources for our community..:

35, An Anniversary Too Good to Miss

REGISTER Here For FREE

You’re invited to join us to experience a little of what we’ve been to people in North Jersey over the last 35 Years.  We want  you to enjoy a presentation of videos, Buddy Grams, Inspirational Entertainment, humor, art auction and more…      this is not just a time to celebrate but to also recall why we are here in the first place: to End the HIV Epidemics for all.

Through our 35 Years we have lead by reducing the percentage of PLWA’s (People Living With AIDS) to very low percentages.  We have used testing to identify those who had  unknown status and linked them to care (most times) within 24 hours.  We have used TAsP (Treatment As Prvention) to gain individual undetectable levels and a lowered community viral load.

Peer Support, Food Pantry & Community Food Distribution, Mental Wellness, Substance Use Treatment, Education, PrEP PEP, TAsP and more are Evidence Based and Biomedical Interventions, Services,  and Resources that will help us END AIDS, STOP HIV, and continue to conquer the epidemics of poverty, hunger, homelessness, addiction, racism, homophobia and all that deteriorates community wellness and better health outcomes.

Your continued care and support are a vital means to the END.  Come know us better and think about ways you may contribute to more successful years to come.
